The Cayuga Nation announced today the successful donation of $800 in toys for local children, purchased by Cayuga Nation leader Clint Halftown, in conjunction with the annual “It’s a Wonderful Life” festival in Seneca Falls. In addition to the toysdonated directly by the Nation, additional toys were collected by the Cayuga Nation Police Department over the weekend.
The Cayuga Nation Police Department delivered two full loads of toys to the festival, transported by two police cruisers. This is the Nation’s 6th year participating in the “It’s a Wonderful Life” festival through local donations.
Sgt. Kenneth L. Smith and Officer Ernest Griffo were present at the event to represent the Cayuga Nation. Members of the Finger Lakes Punishers Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club assisted Nation police officers in unloading the toys for donation.
“This is a fantastic event for local kids in our community and the Cayuga Nation is delighted to participate in this annual community event,” Cayuga Nation leader Clint Halftown said. “We are committed to supporting our neighbors during the holiday season and beyond.”
“I want to thank the Cayuga Nation Police Department and everyone who helped make this another successful year of giving, and I look forward to next year’s opportunities to support our community,” Halftown continued.
